I’ll be the first to say that I consider our pet to truly be a member of our family. We have a 4-year-old dog that’s a Shih Tzu mix and is full of energy. When we purchased our home here in northwest Las Vegas, we made sure to look for a property with a larger backyard that also included a shaded patio area for our dog to have a comfortable place to roam.
On top of the home purchase transactions that I regularly complete, the summertime is the high season for property rental activity as well. Finding a rental property that is pet friendly can be a daunting task for most. I have relationships with many local property managers who offer pet friendly rental homes with no hassle. My brokerage also features plenty of properties that will gladly accept pets.
When applying for one of these rentals, it’s important to have a few things in order. You’ll want to have the weight and breed of your pet as well as vaccination records and a recent pet photo. Many property managers will also require a pet deposit up front, so be sure to work that into your moving budget.
Not all property rentals will require you to produce all of the above information, although it’s always a good practice to have that info on hand just in case we find that amazing deal that requires us to submit an application that day. A skilled REALTOR® should be able to locate these properties pretty easily for you.
